Synopsis

Inako Natsui leads a quiet, routine life working in a lab and living in a small town. She occasionally visits her widowed mother, Wakayama, who has been alone for seventeen years. Inako's relatives, especially Aunt Sadako and Uncle Shuhei, the town mayor's deputy, intend to set her up with a suitable young man, but Inako isn't interested in marriage. She's more drawn to the hot springs near her lab, where she collects specimens. Her life changes when she meets Mr. Tamamiza, a divorced man with a young son. Her family strongly disapproves of the potential relationship. Inako falls in love with him, unaware that this will create a difficult conflict between her family and fate, as sudden and mysterious as the hot spring's emergence from the earth.
