Ramsgate has been a railway destination since 1846. For over fifty years, two companies operated services to the town before the Southern Railway created a connecting line. At the time of filming, there were two main routes: one from Ashford via Charing Cross and the route shown here, from Chatham to London Victoria. This driver's perspective was filmed before the arrival of Southeastern's high-speed Javellin trains at St Pancras. It features a four-coach Class 375 Electrostar, initially running hourly as a fast service to Faversham, stopping at select stations. Here, it meets another similar four-car set from Dover. The train then proceeds to Sittingbourne and the Medway towns of Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, and Rochester. After crossing the Medway, the eight-coach train travels quickly to Victoria, stopping only at Bromley South.
