Synopsis

Harry Goddard, a deeply prejudiced British military officer, has participated in numerous atrocities justified by national security. He was raised with the belief that Islam is inherently evil and Muslims are enemies. When an innocent Muslim woman is murdered by someone under his command, Goddard is profoundly disturbed and can no longer ignore his conscience. Seeking escape from his guilt, he relocates to western Canada. There, he encounters a Muslim brother and sister who recently fled oppression in their home country. The brother is gay, and the sister, an artist, faces unwanted marriage proposals from her cousin, who sponsored their move. He intends to force her to undergo female genital mutilation, sparking a series of events that reveal how the media can reinforce harmful stereotypes.
