Synopsis

A troubled 14-year-old, Alyssa is suspended from school a year after her mother's drowning. Her grandmother, Lucy, takes Alyssa to Grand Bahama Island to find her father, James, whom Alyssa believed was dead. James studies dolphin communication at Smith's Point and is unaware of Alyssa's existence and unprepared for fatherhood. Their arrival coincides with a threat to James's research from a new tourist attraction. As father and daughter navigate their unexpected reunion, they find support from James's girlfriend and her father. Ultimately, it is the dolphins who offer a path to understanding, and Alyssa who learns how to truly listen.
