Synopsis

Zhang Yao, leading the Haidao vice squad, inadvertently apprehends Gao Fei, who was using a false identification. Gao Fei confesses to being an "World of Warcraft" player and reveals he had been dating a woman named Ju Yue after meeting her at a party. However, Cheng Tao, Lin Yan's husband, discovers explicit chat records between Gao Fei and his wife and publicly denounces them in an anonymous online post. The story gains widespread attention, triggering a "cyber manhunt" that exposes Gao Fei and Ju Yue's private information, leading to online calls for their arrest. To shield his family, Gao Fei goes into hiding on an island with a fake ID after fleeing his job. Shortly after Gao Fei's departure from the police station, Zhang Yao receives a call about the discovery of a headless female body on the docks.
