Synopsis

Ryunosuke Chagawa, an aspiring writer, lives near Norifumi Suzuki's auto shop. He now shares his home with Junnosuke, an orphan he's caring for, encouraged by Hiroi, who runs the local tavern. Ryunosuke hopes to publish a novel and build a life with Hiroi and Junnosuke, but his work at the candy store keeps him occupied, leading Hiroi to believe he isn't interested in her. Hiroi is also secretly working as a burlesque dancer, which has soured her view of men. At the Suzuki residence, seven-year-old Ippei is unhappy about sharing with his demanding cousin Mika, also his age. Mutsuko, the apprentice mechanic, continues to live with the Suzukis and attracts the attention of Takeo, a disheartened young man studying cooking.
