As someone who loved the comic strip as a child, I think this initial adaptation among the 28 films made from it really captured what made the cartoon special. It does a great job of showing the chaotic energy surrounding Dagwood’s attempts to be an ideal husband and a typical working man in suburban America during that era. It's genuinely enjoyable, and Daisy the dog is absolutely wonderful.
