Synopsis

June 28, 2014, in Sarajevo. At the city's finest hotel, the Hotel Europa, manager Omer prepares for a visit from important diplomats. The hotel is meant to be the starting point for a call for peace, marking the 100th anniversary of the assassination that sparked World War I. However, the staff are more concerned with their unpaid wages and plan to strike. Hatidza, from the laundry, becomes the strike leader, despite her daughter Lamija in reception strongly opposing the action. In the presidential suite, a French guest practices a speech. Meanwhile, a reporter interviews people about war's impact. The film questions whether Gavrilo Princip, the assassin of 1914, was a criminal or a hero, and how his actions continue to resonate today.
