Synopsis

Jirocho (Kiichi Nakai), a young gambler who abandoned his wife, undertakes a year of training with his group: his loyal second-in-command and military strategist Ohmasa (Kishibe Ittoku); the eccentric priest Daigoro (Takashi Sasano); the enigmatic Ishimatsu Mori (Yoichi Nukumizu); the captivating Masagoro Oiwake (Kazuki Kitamura); and others. As Jirocho's reputation grows, he attracts powerful adversaries, including Katsuzo Kurokoma (Koichi Sato), a leading figure in Koshu, and Masaru Mima (Riki Takeuchi), who holds a personal grudge against Ishimatsu. A betrayal emerges within their ranks from Yoshikazu Ebisu (Yoshikazu Ebisu). Simultaneously, Jirocho's wife becomes ill, and other hardships arise, plunging him into despair. Faced with these challenges, what will Jirocho do? What will become of his followers? The Jirocho group must fight for their survival.
