Synopsis

The film depicts the customary preparations undertaken by a family for the wedding of seventeen-year-old Ayesah, who is marrying a man she doesn't know well. As her wedding approaches, Ayesah reconnects with Maguid, her childhood tutor, who has returned to the village as a soldier after five years, stirring up old feelings. Confined before the wedding, Ayesah finds her eight-year-old sister Saripa offering her a glimpse of the outside world. Their mother Amina maintains a calm facade despite her husband's frequent infidelity, finding strength in her religious and familial obligations. Ayesah’s aunt Farida oversees her wedding preparations, but her own troubled past creates a conflict for Ayesah, forcing her to choose between love and upholding tradition.
