Synopsis

Rettaichuzhi is a 2010 Indian Tamil drama film written and directed by Thamira. It stars K. Balachander and Bharathiraja as the leads, alongside Anjali, debutant Aari, Manobala, Ilavarasu, Karunas, and Jayachitra in supporting roles. The story takes place in a village in Thirunelveli. Ramasamy (K Balachander) is a respected figure who has been a loyal Congress supporter since childhood, deeply opposed to Singaravelan (Bharathiraja), a Communist. Their decades-long rivalry extends to their grandchildren, who form gangs to express their animosity. A family romance begins, shifting the atmosphere. Susheela (Anjali), raised in Singaravelan's household, is a schoolteacher in love with Murthy (Aari). Recognizing their love, the children work to reconcile their families and arrange their marriage. The film explores whether they succeed.
