In the 1930s and 1940s, he worked as a publicity manager for MGM, an operetta singer in France, and a correspondent and actor in Hollywood. As a war correspondent, he witnessed the liberation of Paris and Auschwitz. From that point forward, he pursued photography, traveling the world as a journalist and photographer starting in 1946. Sam Waagenaar's life story offers a glimpse into his perspective on the world and his experiences throughout the 20th century.
