Synopsis

Adapted from the acclaimed play, the story follows a British Government Minister who introduces legislation to combat pollution. However, his personal life is complicated by affairs with his secretary and the wife of a prominent reporter. Opponents of the bill, primarily a group of young activists led by Johnny, kidnap the Minister's close friend and fellow bill sponsor, Barry Ovis, just as he's about to marry Joan. Barry escapes moments before police raid the activists' hideout, intending to falsely accuse him of being involved in an orgy to derail the legislation. He flees to his apartment with Joan, pursued by the investigating Inspector Ruff and Damina, one of the activists. Meanwhile, the Minister attempts to continue his affairs at the same apartment, while Barry, Joan, and the Minister try to conceal the truth from Inspector Ruff, a fellow MP, the Minister's wife, and the activists – leading to escalating complications.
