Synopsis

CRYING FREEMAN: FINAL CHAPTER -- THE GUIDING LIGHT OF MEMORY (1993) is the sixth and final installment of the Japanese anime series based on the "Crying Freeman" manga. This violent story follows a brutal turf war between criminal organizations. Considered the best written and most stylish in the series, it centers on a young Japanese Yakuza who takes control of the drug and weapon supply from Russia to Japan, bypassing the Hong Kong-based 108 Dragons. Freeman, the hitman and the 108 Dragons' key operative, travels to Japan to investigate and is framed for assassinating prominent Yakuza leaders. His primary adversary, Tsunaike, receives assistance from Tanya, a strikingly attractive Arctic assassin (though appearing more Siberian), who is often depicted nude in intimate scenes with him.
