Synopsis

Maurice Baquet was a multifaceted artist: a renowned musician in the October Group, a performer, actor, mountaineer, and skier, constantly on the go. He centered his life on two passions: the cello and the mountains, describing himself as a unique "cellist-skier." World ski champion James Couttet famously said, "Of all the skiers I know, he's the best cellist," a sentiment echoed by Conservatoire professor André Navarra, who declared, "Of all the cellists I know, he's the best skier." Throughout his diverse career, Baquet consistently portrayed the mountains with joy and artistry. This film explores Maurice's life and adventures through his cello, Cérébos, a constant companion who accompanies him from Paris to Chamonix, from the stage to the mountains, spanning a century and always bringing a smile.
