Synopsis

During a pivotal moment in English politics, Alex Charles, a minister, is critically injured and placed in a coma on life support at his home. Many people stand to gain from his survival: his wife, her lover, a close friend and fellow minister, his commanding officer, his mistress, and even his political rival. This web of relationships and ambitions fuels a story of escalating misunderstandings and unexpected turns. The minister's daughter, an Indian butler, and the air conditioning technician become entangled in this tragicomic situation, approaching the absurd. The fate of the government hinges on a single power cord. "Unplug the Minister (1998)" was originally performed at PIRAEUS 131 in 1998 and ran for three seasons. This television version is from the third season and was rebroadcast on Star on Sunday, August 5, 2001 and Saturday, March 22, 2003.
