High in the Tuscan mountains, the Elfi have maintained a unique, close-knit community, one of Europe's largest and oldest groups of their kind. Whether they chose this isolated life for their beliefs or to escape persecution, they now live completely self-sufficiently. Life is hard, especially in the harsh winters, but they share a strong sense of unity and peace. However, a growing conflict emerges within the community of Casa Sarti. The children, who were once content with their upbringing, now yearn for more than the limited education offered by their parents. They are drawn to the world their parents shunned. Should the community allow its children to attend a regular school, risking the loss of their traditions and mountain home? The future of their way of life hangs in the balance.
