Synopsis

Donna May, a grief counselor, is devastated when her husband, Robert, is killed in a hit-and-run accident. Shortly after, Donna's estranged adopted son, Kevin, reappears, claiming he's changed and wants to rebuild their relationship. Reluctantly, Donna takes him in, despite a history of conflict – five years prior, Kevin was caught stealing from her and Robert. Soon, Kevin's aggressive behavior resurfaces. He accuses Robert of infidelity and isolates Donna, preventing her from leaving or contacting anyone. Her credit cards and checks vanish, and she's cut off from communication. When her lawyer is found dead after Kevin accuses him of fraud, Donna suspects he's responsible and tries to escape, risking her life.
