I’m honestly not sure what I just witnessed. The experience was truly awful; I skipped ahead through the majority of the film once things progressed too far. The voice acting felt really bad, too. It's reasonable to expect a certain level of quality when a movie receives high praise from aggregating sites; those ratings don’t appear without reason. However, there are instances where an overhyped film earns good grades that leave you feeling confused and questioning how it happened. This is precisely the situation with writer-director Aleshea Harris's debut feature, adapted from her award-winning play of the sa…
