Synopsis

This film updates Upton Sinclair's 1906 novel, *The Jungle*, to expose the ongoing greed and exploitation within America’s meat industry. It explores how traditional ecological knowledge could offer a path toward a fairer food system for people and the environment. With contributions from former New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman, the movie details how corporations have shaped our food system for profit, harming ecosystems and worsening climate change. Industry experts reveal the strategies behind today's corporate power. Meanwhile, slaughterhouse workers fight for fair treatment. Others, like Paige and Derrick Jackson, abandon the system to grow their own food.
