People are disappearing from an apartment in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, a building filled with residents from all walks of life. Nakajima (Yoshimi Tachi) offers to investigate, and Tamura (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi), worried about him going alone, instructs Saito (Katsuya) to join him. Their search of Kabukicho yields no concrete clues. That night, Saito remembers a story about "Kabukicho kidnappings" from twenty years ago, shared by Wang (Weng Huarong) while they were in prison, and contacts him. Separately, Nakajima goes to Kabukicho alone, pretending to patrol, but with a hidden personal reason. Just then, an unknown number calls Nakajima's phone.
