Synopsis

Nothing But The Blues follows Eric Clapton’s enduring dedication to the blues. Originally broadcast on PBS in 1995 and recognized with an Emmy® nomination, the film is now available in upgraded 4K. Written and produced by Scooter Weintraub, with Martin Scorsese as executive producer, the documentary features a comprehensive interview with Clapton, conducted by Scorsese himself. In the interview, Clapton explores his deep connection to the blues and the significant influence of artists like Muddy Waters and B.B. King on his work. The film incorporates archival footage, interviews, and photographs of musicians including Robert Johnson, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, and T-Bone Walker. Additionally, it includes 20 previously unreleased live performances recorded in 1994 during Clapton’s tour promoting From The Cradle, his Grammy-winning blues album.
