Synopsis

Office worker Yui is heartbroken when her boyfriend breaks up with her. Later, on the train, she confronts a man who makes her uncomfortable, but her actions are misinterpreted. Feeling lost, she connects with Tanihara, a university professor, and Yamada, a recently laid-off former temp worker, both grappling with personal disappointments at a bar. Yamada's girlfriend has accused him of stalking, and Tanihara faces estrangement from his family after a university suspension. Seeking respite, the two men visit a countryside hot spring inn where they meet Tsukiko, the landlady, and Hosemi, her waitress, both beautiful widows. Yui is also at the inn on a business trip. During a communal bath, Hosemi's behavior overwhelms Tanihara, causing him to faint. She then tends to him in her room.
