Aladdin's parents split when he's young. His father moves to Tangier with his brothers and remarries, later leaving the family for Holland. Aladdin is left on the streets, struggling to survive through petty theft and odd jobs. Years later, his father returns to find him destitute. In desperation, Aladdin steals from his father and flees to the mountains. Guided by an inner voice, he returns to Tangier only to discover his father has died, a victim of a life of hardship. Seeking guidance, Aladdin finds it in Felix, a writer who helps him develop his talent for storytelling, inspired by "Arabian Nights." This leads Aladdin to discover his creative power – his "magic lamp" – and he begins painting. Finally, he achieves his dream of escaping to Europe, where he meets and marries a princess.
