Synopsis

Following the resolution of a terrorist attack at a police hospital, Detective Natsumi Yukihira is reassigned to the Nishimonbetsu Police Station in Hokkaido. Simultaneously, a series of disturbing murders plague downtown Tokyo, with victims found with nails placed in their bodies. A fingerprint belonging to Natsumi's ex-husband, freelance journalist Kazuo Sato, is discovered on a victim, leading to his being placed on the wanted list. Shortly after, Kazuo contacts Natsumi and gives her a USB drive containing information about a clandestine organization within the police force. He claims the murders are warnings, and that those targeted will be the next victims. Natsumi is subsequently arrested as a suspect. Tokyo prosecutor Katsuaki Murakami arrives at the Nishimonbetsu Police Station to investigate.
