It avoids political themes, which earns a bit of extra credit in my book. However, it really ought to have been entertaining. That’s where the film falls short. The creative team seemed unable to settle on a tone—whether they were aiming for something over-the-top, mocking, or genuinely dramatic—and as a result, it doesn't quite work with any of those approaches.
