I've reached the point where I feel certain that the _Mission: Impossible_ movies simply aren’t my thing. However, it has to be acknowledged that how many movie series can claim their fifth chapter was also their strongest? It’s likely only this one, and perhaps _Fast & Furious_. There are some noticeable similarities between those two franchises, actually. Concerning _Mission: Impossible_, I do believe this entry is the best so far. It features the most well-developed female character yet—you could even argue that of any character in the series. This is the first film where it doesn’t seem to depend entirely on Ethan Hunt's actions. The people around him feel like real individuals with their own distinct personalities and viewpoints. And possibly it’s just because I’ve seen him perform these kinds of stunts repeatedly over the last few days, but I even managed to suspend my disbelief regarding Tom Cruise in an action role this time. It's remarkable. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._
