Seeing Jurassic World Rebirth, featuring Scarlett Johansson (Asteroid City) as Zora Bennett, Jonathan Bailey (Wicked) as Dr. Henry Loomis, Mahersala Ali (Moonlight, Alita: Battle Angel) as Duncan Kincaid, Rupert Friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as Martin Krebs, Manuel Garcia-Ruflo (The Magnificent Seven) as Ruben Delgaldo, Luna Blaise (Manifest) as Teresa Delgaldo, David Iocono (Dead Boy Detectives) as Xavier Dobbs, Audrina M…

The connection to the existing series feels tenuous; it might have functioned better as a standalone story about an isolated island facility where dinosaurs were engineered. However, the narrative itself isn't particularly strong. The central premise—gathering dinosaur DNA to treat human heart problems—is baffling. It’s hard to imagine how reptile genetics could be used to address mammal cardiovascular issues. …

It's good to see that this film begins more successfully than its predecessor, but unfortunately, it suffers from a weak narrative once again, seemingly dependent on visual effects. A significant issue is presenting two separate family groups with no connection to one another—a clear illustration of how screenwriters in Hollywood appear to have lost their way. The earlier installment managed to weave these distinct f…

"Jurassic World: Rebirth" is visually stunning; the settings are incredible, and the cinematography is beautiful from start to finish. It’s a perfectly enjoyable piece of exciting entertainment that easily holds your attention. The film takes quite a bit from other movies – there's even a moment where it feels like a celebration of "Jaws" (1975), complete with a need for a larger boat – and manages to feel truly orig…

It's such a shame to see potential squandered like this. It’s widely understood that those in Hollywood aren’t always the most perceptive people, but it’s still frustrating when a film with a substantial budget and an established fanbase is entrusted to someone who clearly doesn’t know what they are doing, resulting in a truly disappointing product. The depictions of the dinosaurs and the special effects involving…

This latest installment, filmed during the summer of 2024, marks the seventh entry in the Jurassic Park series. It takes cues from the original film while also echoing moments similar to those featuring Pteranodons in “Jurassic Park III.” The Quetzalcoatlus shares some visual similarities with the Pteranodon seen earlier, but boasts a wingspan double its size and weighs more than four times as much. For viewers se…

It’s pleasing to see how the characters relate to one another and the dinosaurs, and witnessing the story play out is genuinely entertaining. I appreciate the sense of connection and humor that arises even when confronting peril and frightening circumstances. The Jurassic franchise continues to be successful at making you care about what happens to the people involved, especially as dreadful things begin to occur.

It’s hard to avoid feeling let down after seeing Jurassic World: Rebirth. The visual effects were good, and the music wasn't bad either, but the story was just too obvious; even a kid could probably guess what was going to happen next. I felt like there were chances for some unexpected turns in the storyline, moments that could have been really exciting, but they ended up playing out in a very straightforward way, la…

"Jurassic World Rebirth" returns the franchise to its origins, both geographically and in terms of its underlying ideas. Director Gareth Edwards clearly aims for a nostalgic feel, incorporating scenes that closely resemble key moments from the original "Jurassic Park," so much so that you can almost hear the sounds of the 1993 film playing. Surprisingly, these references don't come across as a cheap imitation; instea…

The movie Jurassic World earns an 8 out of 10 thanks to its exciting action sequences and stunning imagery; the dinosaur pursuits are genuinely thrilling, and the visuals are remarkable. Nevertheless, it comes across as more of a restart than something entirely new, drawing significantly on feelings of familiarity and established story elements. The storyline isn’t as complex or captivating as the first Jurassic Park…

Seventeen years prior, scientists initiated a project involving dinosaur mutations, resulting in the creation of a Distortus Rex—a Tyrannosaur variant also called the D-Rex. A Snickers wrapper led to its escape from the facility, prompting its closure. Five years after the events depicted in Jurassic World: Dominion, dinosaurs are experiencing decline and struggling to survive Earth’s environment, except near the …

It's hard to find much worthwhile in this film beyond one particular scene featuring enormous dinosaurs accompanied by John Williams’s original theme—otherwise, it feels like a lackluster video game adaptation that doesn’t bring anything new to the Jurassic franchise. These creatures have essentially been relegated to small groups existing in equatorial regions, simply trying to survive and be left alone, shielded fr…

It's remarkable how occasionally films can pleasantly surprise us. And this newest entry in the “Jurassic” series is one of those instances. I went into it with some reservations, truthfully; I figured this was a franchise that had exhausted its potential, essentially running on fumes and offering little genuinely new. To an extent, that’s accurate, especially concerning originality. Nevertheless, despite the film's …

It’s noticeably improved compared to recent installments, though still not particularly memorable. It seems everyone connected to the project—including Scarlett Johansson, director Gareth Edwards, and screenwriter David Koepp—received compensation, but I doubt this film will stick with me for very long. The one good thing is that it doesn't drag on; the runtime clocks in under two hours if you skip the closing credit…

"Jurassic World Rebirth" sadly reinforces how stagnant the series has become. The absence of new concepts is obvious, with a predictable and repetitive storyline, little substance in the narrative, and characters who don’t have much depth either. The introductory scenes are handled adequately, but they feel disconnected from everything else. Essentially, this feels like a slickly produced but ultimately unmoti…

Jurassic World Rebirth seems to mirror what’s been happening with this series lately. It's put together well from a technical standpoint and has skilled people working on it, but it struggles because there isn't really a clear direction or any boldness in the story. The actors do a good job, yet the characters feel empty inside. The dinosaurs are still visually striking, however, they don’t carry the same impact a…

_Jurassic World Rebirth_ attempts a return to what made the earlier films special, but largely feels like a perfunctory exercise. The visual effects concerning the dinosaurs are acceptable, though the feeling of amazement seems to have disappeared. The storyline reuses familiar elements—corporate exploitation, an act of disloyalty, the predictable command to “Run!”—and the new characters come across as toys with pre-…
