Awkwafina is, without question, my favorite performer—I consider her to be the absolute best. But this film has given me pause and prompted some doubts about that assessment. It’s a rough, noisy action movie with lots of fighting. If I were basing my opinion solely on this one picture, I might even suggest John Cena is superior to Awkwafina. Thankfully, there are so many wonderful performances by Awkwafina out there that we know she truly is exceptional. It's disappointing overall. However, Awkwafina and Cena have great chemistry together, which elevates the experience somewhat. I’m a big fan of TMNT, and this movie feels specifically designed for someone like me, so I did find some enjoyment in it. The runtime could have been shorter.
