The cast wasn’t right; those portraying the characters simply didn’t perform well. The frightening creatures, however, proved to be a positive aspect. It really needed Jack Black’s contribution to avoid being rated with a 1.

The first film starring Jack Black in the _Goosebumps_ series didn’t make much of an impact, and honestly, _Haunted Halloween_ is a tiny bit disappointing compared to that one. Nevertheless, I still think it's worthwhile to bring children to movies about monsters. Final rating: ★★ - It wasn’t really for me, though I can see why some people might like it.
