I just saw Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF 1), and I have to say, I was let down. The narrative is alright, and the investigative aspects are engaging, but I anticipated considerably more fear and suspense. It ended up feeling like a movie for kids rather than a genuine horror experience. Certain scenes look good and are visually nice, though generally speaking, it doesn't provide the excitement that the series is recognized for. The rhythm felt off at times, and several moments intended to be frightening came across as foreseeable or not very impactful. Basically, while there are some positives, like the storyline and the investigation, the film falls short of expectations and feels like a bit of a time sink. If you’re searching for actual horror, you might want to try Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 instead; it seems to do a much better job with building suspense and excitement.
