It’s decent enough. I was left thinking that the character mascots could have benefited from more detailed animatronics and distinct, unsettling vocal performances. However, since this film draws inspiration from a video game—one I am unfamiliar with—it's possible their presentation is faithful to the source material, so it might not be fair to call it a flaw. As a standalone movie, though, I believe that would have made things more engaging. *Five Nights at Freddy’s* manages to be an adequate supernatural horror film. Josh Hutcherson delivers a satisfactory performance in the main role, and Elizabeth Lail and Piper Rubio are also good. It seems like Matthew Lillard's character could have been explored further, but he is fine as he is. I've noticed that this 2023 movie has received varied reactions, which is clear from both online ratings and what I see from people whose opinions I respect. Ultimately, it entertained me, and that’s my main takeaway.
