Having followed the Five Nights at Freddy's series for nine years, I think this adaptation does a decent job bringing it to the screen. My rating is 3.5 stars, or 7 out of 10. I’ve seen several interviews with Emma Tammi and some online videos that showed behind-the-scenes footage released a bit early, which gave me insight into the dedication Blumhouse, Scott Cawthon Productions, and Jim Henson's Company invested in this world, knowing how many people appreciate it. However, I can’t rate it higher than 3.5 or 7/10 because there weren’t enough jump scares or truly frightening moments; it surprised me a few times, but not as often as I had hoped, and they didn't feature much of William or the Spring Bonnie suit. William Afton is the main antagonist in this franchise – across all FNaF stories, there’s always a William who commits terrible acts—and I feel like they missed an opportunity with his character. If there’s another film, I hope it delves deeper into William's story. It's enjoyable to watch, especially for those familiar with the games, and could also be a good starting point for people who are easily frightened by horror films.
