This is a really strong movie. Julia Roberts gives an excellent performance. Perhaps it runs on a bit – maybe ten to fifteen minutes could have been trimmed – but even with that, *Erin Brockovich* remains a captivating story based on real events. The writing has some genuinely clever exchanges, and there are several memorable lines delivered by Roberts. I found her acting throughout the film to be quite enjoyable. Besides Roberts, Albert Finney and Aaron Eckhart appear in supporting roles, along with smaller parts for actors familiar from television, including Michael Harney and Wade Williams. Finney and Eckhart do a perfectly acceptable job, but ultimately it’s Roberts who drives the narrative. It's certainly worth seeing.
