The sound of the violin music combined with the expected surface noise from an old record is genuinely endearing. The very ability to synchronize both video and audio together establishes that this is truly a significant cinematic artifact. Even though it isn’t central to what's happening, I appreciated hearing the director’s voice faintly recorded—it lends a feeling of something like a personal home film.
