I really wanted to call this movie "a piece of trash," honestly. Because Romero seems to have made it intensely personal, taking aim at my favorite zombie series ever. That’s not a healthy reaction, I know; I don't even know the guy, and it shouldn't be personal. But I felt this strong desire to retaliate against him and his fans, who sometimes come across as overly pretentious when they present his films as brillian…

The film was alright, nothing special. One thing that bothered me was the limitation of seeing everything solely through the characters’ cameras. Another issue was being turned into a zombie upon death, regardless of whether I had been bitten or not.

It's a strong and modern adaptation of Romero’s original work, feeling very appropriate for what's happening now. I am really hoping that the odd circumstances we are living through will inspire Romero and filmmakers like him to create more entries in their series, and hopefully produce something worthwhile given everything going on in America these days.
