My previous assessment of this film as a lesser work by Hitchcock didn't hold up when I watched it again; it really highlighted how strong the writing and direction are, plus how remarkable and often overlooked Grace Kelly and Ray Milland have become, particularly now that so much time has passed. The tension is incredibly intense. I will admit, I still don’t place scissors on my desk.
