The film progresses at a deliberate pace, but it’s still rewarding to witness a character confront their deepest anxieties—those that connect us to our family history and formative years. While the premise centers on being stranded in the wilderness with a corpse, the story contains numerous elements deserving of deeper consideration.

This year has already given me my initial letdown. It wasn’t awful—there have definitely been worse films released in 2019—but _Body at Brighton Rock_ is the first one I've seen that left me feeling surprised by how underwhelming it was, since I had hoped for something better. Final rating:★★ - There were elements that resonated with my tastes, but ultimately, the completed film didn’t measure up.
