"Back in Action" has a distinct resemblance to something cheaper than "True Lies." It doesn't bring anything new or inventive to the table like the 1994 film that it superficially copies. That’s not to suggest it’s terrible; as a straightforward action movie, it provides some mild entertainment. However, you quickly realize you’ve seen this all before, because you probably have, in various ways. Basically, it's just another formulaic and mass-produced American action film—pleasant enough while watching but ultimately forgettable.
