It almost seems unnecessary to even explain why this film deserves attention. LADY GAGA. BRADLEY COOPER—who apparently can sing and direct. You really don't need any details about the story itself to recognize that seeing it should be a top priority. However, if you’re curious, the movie draws inspiration from one of the most famous (and cherished) musical films of the 20th century; there have been several adaptations over the years, but none surpassed the original starring Judy Garland. Besides all the creative contributions from Gaga and Cooper, the script is also written by Eric Roth, an Academy Award-winning screenwriter who once described life as being like a box of chocolates in Forest Gump (he changed a line from the book—an earlier version that wasn't nearly as memorable).
