This installment feels familiar. *A Quiet Place Part II* essentially combines elements of *Stranger Things* and *The Walking Dead*—I’d gladly watch a crossover with those characters, to be honest. While the initial film had some originality thanks to its focus on sound, this 2020 sequel shifts the emphasis toward human interaction, and not necessarily for the better. I didn't actively dislike it, but I also can’t say I was truly entertained, even with Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy—actors whom I generally find very enjoyable. They both deliver solid performances, though. I found this one considerably less memorable and somewhat slow-paced; it felt like little of real consequence occurred. It's difficult to recall much about the story already, having just finished watching. The plot is quite simple overall. However, Millicent Simmonds’ performance stands out as a definite improvement over her work in the first film—though she wasn’t lacking anything in that one either. I hope the third part can recapture what made the original special. At least this movie avoids some of the most blatantly ridiculous moments found in its predecessor (although, okay, I'll forgive you this time, Marcus).
