I may have given it too high marks, but they’re probably earned. It's been quite some time since I felt so invested in a movie. As someone who used to love tear-inducing stories, this one really hit the spot. It feels like a continuation of 'Fluke,' though it stands on its own as an independent film. Adapted from the book with the same title and directed by the filmmaker behind 'Hachi: A Dog's Tale', it’s a great choice for families, even if it is completely made up. It brings to mind those films where someone finds themselves stuck in a recurring time loop, unsure of why and searching for meaning—except this one features a dog instead of a person, and the cycle involves rebirths rather than a fixed point in time. The story unfolds from the dog’s viewpoint, following his life as he grows old alongside his owners. We see the joys, hardships, loves, and confusion as the circle of life repeats itself. Ultimately, the film provides an explanation for everything it presents, though it's fairly straightforward. The dog is undeniably the central figure, present in every scene. The other characters are also well-developed, particularly the smaller stories that weave into the dog’s journey. All of the dogs who appeared in the movie were fantastic. This ranks among the best films about dogs I’ve seen. While it might not be a masterpiece, it's definitely enjoyable for everyone. Especially when compared to today's movies filled with computer-generated imagery and superheroes, this one feels genuinely heartfelt, despite its fantastical premise. Check it out! _8.5/10_
