Synopsis

Don Sebastian, a companion of the de la Vegas family, grew increasingly anxious about the delayed arrival of the stage in Monterey. He carried a heavy purse of gold, and the fear of theft gnawed at him. While waiting in the tavern with Diego, he inadvertently spoke of his wealth, and his words were overheard by three unscrupulous performers.
