Synopsis

The law demanded that two indentured servants seeking marriage require their masters' consent. Buena, employed at the de la Vega hacienda, was granted permission, but her intended, Romaldo, faced a different reality. A colleague of Romaldo’s, harboring his own affections for Buena, persuaded their employer that Romaldo intended to desert his service following the wedding.
