Synopsis

A new arrival joined the inhabitants of the pueblo, making his way to the de la Vega hacienda with the purpose of finding the Eagle. Diego recognized him instantly as Count Kolinko, an emissary from a nation in Eastern Europe that had long coveted dominion over California. With the Eagle absent in the pueblo, Diego managed to persuade Kolinko that he too was involved in the clandestine scheme. He came close to securing the vital details of the plot.
