Synopsis

Driven by the need to recover the lost jewels, Diego and Bernardo seek out a local priest, hoping for his aid in their search. Their visit proves fruitless, however. Later, when Carlos Murietta voices his complaint to Sergeant Garcia regarding a missing trunk he'd left at the tannery, Diego is more certain than ever that Mordante concealed the jewels before his demise.
