Synopsis

The false commandante and the magistrado’s schemes unravel when Ortega notices Diego speaking with Rosarita Cortez, a childhood friend recently returned from the capital. Ortega dreads that she might recognize him from her travels; it was on that very trip he murdered the original Ortega and assumed his identity. Bernardo, overhearing the two conspirators plotting her demise, alerts Diego.
