“**Spoilers may be inside**” The initial episode opens with a jarring sequence, but then features strong performances and lovely scenery of Montana. A number of characters are presented, and their relationships begin to develop. Things seem promising at that point. However, after episodes five or six, the show begins to falter. There's a lack of consistency in how people act, violence feels nonsensical, there’s excessive yelling and profanity, and then some uninspired cowboy moments appear—it all becomes tiresome. The quality of the writing is really lacking; for instance, someone commits murder, and the following day they are casually participating in cowboy activities as if it were normal. There's no sense of dread or regret present. The series ultimately feels quite repetitive and corny. I’m honestly taken aback that it has a rating of 8+.
