Wynonna Earp didn’t arrive intending to be groundbreaking. Nevertheless, the show's unusual and somewhat low-budget combination of horror elements within a modern Western setting initially proved quite successful. However, as time went on, it seemed that the emphasis on simply providing enjoyment lessened. The series began incorporating a social justice angle through its frequently witty, sometimes risqué dialogue, which I found to be both overly didactic and grating. It’s disappointing because the show had previously realized its initial goal of being a modest but enjoyable program, gaining a committed group of fans along the way. Basically, in my opinion, if something is working well, there's no need to change it. I give it a 5/10.
