Following Stephanie McMahon's acceptance of Eric Bischoff's challenge for Unforgiven, Kurt Angle issued his own, stipulating a match against Billy and Chuck, with an unforeseen partner. In one of the early installments of their long-standing feud, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar faced a young John Cena in a singles contest.
